What a commercial
site asks of you.

01

The neighbours stay open

Commercial demolition rarely happens on an empty block. The tenancy next door, the centre across the lane and the office upstairs all keep trading.

02

The programme is fixed

The incoming build already has a start date. Demolition is the first thing on the critical path, so it cannot be the thing that slips.

03

Part of it stays

More often than not something is being kept: a facade, a podium, the building next door. What stays decides how everything else comes down.

04

No room to work

Inner-city sites mean restricted access, no laydown and live interfaces on every boundary.

05

Paper before plant

Head contractors need the methodology, sequence and safety documentation before anyone mobilises, not after.

Before you call

The questions
we actually get.

Can you work beside a building that stays open?

It is the normal case for us. The Grand Plaza cinema demolition sat immediately beside a trading shopping centre, with live service lines running to major tenancies inside it, and the whole programme ran as night works.

Can you take part of a building down and keep the rest?

Yes. At the Ramada Hotel we removed the upper levels of two buildings while the adjoining structures stayed in place, using engineered temporary propping, containment demolition scaffold and a designed removal sequence.

Do you work for head contractors or direct?

Both of our recent commercial projects were delivered for head contractors. We also take work direct from developers and owners, where being involved before the demolition is priced usually saves the most.

What documentation do you provide?

Demolition methodology, sequencing and safety documentation before mobilisation, and the records to show what was done at handover. On a commercial job the paperwork is part of the programme.

What happens to the waste?

It is separated on site and diverted to recycling wherever it can be. On the Grand Plaza cinema demolition the majority of the structure was diverted from landfill.
