Industrial

Plant, warehouses and industrial structures taken down and cleared, and the contamination they leave behind dealt with. PFAS, PCBs, heavy metals, hydrocarbons, silica, mould and lead paint dust.

The sector

What an industrial
site asks of you.

01

The hazards come first

Before a structure is touched, whatever was stored, processed or leaked inside it has to be identified and controlled.

02

The ground is part of it

Decades of use leave contamination in the soil and fill, and the site cannot be redeveloped until it is dealt with.

03

Chemical risk needs a strategy

Every chemical hazard needs its own mitigation and control plan, not a generic one.

04

Heavy structure

Steel frames, thick slabs and plant foundations take the right method and the right machine.

05

Evidence at the end

The next owner, the council and the financier all want proof of what was removed and where it went.

Where it comes from

We came to hazardous substances through demolition and asbestos. Enough jobs turned up chemical hazards that controlling them became part of the work, not a reason to stop it.

Before you call

The questions
we actually get.

What hazardous substances do you deal with?

PFAS including PFOA and PFOS, PCBs, heavy metals, petroleum hydrocarbons, organic chlorides, silica dust, mould, and lead paint and process dust, as well as asbestos.

Can you deal with the contamination left in the ground?

Yes. Contaminated land assessment, Remediation Action Plans and bulk earth remediation are part of our soil remediation capability, and are often the job that follows an industrial demolition.

Do you remove asbestos from industrial buildings?

Yes, including friable material like lagging and refractory, under our Class A licence.

Why use one contractor for demolition and decontamination?

Because on an industrial site they are the same job. The hazards have to be controlled before the structure comes down, and whoever takes the structure down finds out first what was in it.
