Concrete
Specialists
Cutting and removing structural concrete with control. Slab cutting, new wall penetrations, suspended slabs, balconies and stairways, and robotic demolition where access is too tight for conventional plant. The detail work that decides whether a programme finishes clean or runs over.
Cut it cleanly,
or not at all.
Concrete work in an existing building is rarely about removing everything. It is about removing exactly the right part, a slab section, a stair, an opening in a wall, and leaving everything around it undamaged and ready for the next trade.
On the Ramada Hotel that meant load-bearing masonry, columns, suspended slabs, balconies, stairways and a swimming pool structure, removed with robotic demolition, concrete cutting, excavators and cranage inside constrained areas. It also meant slab cutting for a new basement lift shaft and forming new wall penetrations.
Concrete cutting is where demolition meets the new build, so it gets the same planning, propping and documentation as the rest of the job.
Specialist techniques allowed structural elements to be safely removed within constrained areas.
Advanced DeconstructionConcrete,
with control.
Controlled cutting and removal of structural concrete in existing buildings, including where access rules out conventional plant.
- Concrete CuttingCutting structural concrete to separate, open up or remove elements cleanly.
- Slab CuttingSlab cutting for new openings, including a new basement lift shaft.
- Wall PenetrationsNew openings formed in existing walls for the incoming works.
- Robotic DemolitionRemote-controlled demolition for controlled removal in constrained areas.
- Slabs and BalconiesRemoval of suspended slabs, balconies and stairways from existing structures.
- Specialist StructuresRemoval of structures like swimming pools within a building footprint.

Licences are held per jurisdiction, not nationally. Crews travel as required and have completed work from Brisbane to Perth and Hobart to Weipa.
Five stages.
Measured twice.
Every cut is decided before the saw starts, because a cut in the wrong place cannot be undone.
Define the removal
Exactly what is coming out, what has to stay, and where the new openings need to be for the incoming works.

Support first
Where the concrete being removed is carrying load, propping is installed before any cutting starts.

Cut
Concrete cutting separates the element cleanly from the structure that is staying.

Remove
Robotic demolition, excavators and cranage take the element out, sized to the access available.

Ready for the next trade
Openings, penetrations and cut edges are left ready for the incoming works.

The questions
we actually get.
Written for the person who has to justify the appointment internally, not for a search engine.
Can you cut new openings into an existing building?
Yes. On the Ramada Hotel we completed slab cutting for a new basement lift shaft and formed new wall penetrations as part of the works, with the surrounding structure retained.
What is robotic demolition?
Demolition using remote-controlled machines, which lets structural elements be broken out and removed in spaces too tight or too sensitive for conventional plant, with the operator at a safe distance. It is how you remove concrete precisely where an excavator will not fit.
Can you remove slabs and balconies and keep the rest?
Yes. On the Ramada Hotel suspended slabs, balconies and stairways were removed from the upper levels of two buildings while the adjoining structures were retained.
Do you prop before cutting?
Wherever the concrete being removed is carrying load. The propping goes in first, which is why our concrete work sits alongside our temporary works rather than separate from it.
Can you work in a site with restricted access?
That is usually why concrete work gets called in. Robotic demolition, concrete cutting and cranage are chosen because they work inside constrained areas where larger plant cannot.
Is concrete work part of a demolition, or separate?
Either. It is often the precise end of a larger technical demolition, and it can also be a standalone job where only part of a structure needs to come out.
Rarely one
discipline alone.
A concrete specialists job usually pulls in one or two of the others. All of them are delivered in-house, under the same licence structure and the same safety system.
